Razzle Dazzle

lastptof2008

Last PT of the year. We decided to play with the football instead of the Frisbee because the wind gusts were up to 50 miles an hour. The football sailed like a Frisbee so I can’t imagine what a Frisbee would have done. I got clocked with a box right before I took this picture. Ironic: I play football with a bunch of Marines and poolies for an hour and a half without a scratch and I nearly get taken out by a sheet of cardboard. Still, PT was a good time. Hogan and Kyle, both back from boot camp, joined in the fun.

3 mile run
Deck 3— PHASE 2, Lower Body Workout: link

I’m back in Virginia with the group. I PTed while I was in Georgia, which consisted mostly of 3 mile runs and some calisthenics. Still, my mother-in-law succeeded in fattening me up some, so I’ve got some work to do. Hogan is back from boot camp and Marine Combat Training all Marineified. We’ve decided to make the last workout of the year a fun one, so we’ll be doing some Frisbee football tomorrow.

3 mile run

I’m untethered from the group this week visiting family for the holidays. I can’t stress how effective it has been to work out with a group instead of by myself. Not only do I not miss workouts, but I also tend to run harder when there is someone just in front of me or just behind me. I’m finding that even when I’m away, I’m not missing the workouts because I don’t want to fall behind.

If you don’t already have one, you might want to find a workout partner or group. It makes the discipline part easier.
